李吉祥 × 李政勳 二人の”Lee”が描く、それぞれの視点。
福岡を拠点に「Art × Music × Culture」を発信する SIGNAL Gallery は、2026年8月15日（土）から9月4日（金）まで、台湾を代表する現代アーティスト 李吉祥（Lee Chi-Hsiang） と 李政勳（Li Cheng-Hsun） による二人展 「Watch Lee’s - Two Perspectives, One Vision」 を開催いたします。
本展は、SIGNAL Galleryにとって初となる台湾人アーティストによる二人展であり、「福岡から世界へ、世界から福岡へ」というギャラリーのビジョンのもと、台湾と日本をつなぐ新たな文化交流の場を創出する展覧会です。
SIGNAL Gallery, a contemporary art and cultural space in Fukuoka, is pleased to present Watch Lee’s, a two-person exhibition featuring Taiwanese artists Lee Chi-Hsiang and Li Cheng-Hsun, running from Saturday, August 15 to Friday, September 4, 2026.
Continuing its mission to connect Fukuoka with the world, SIGNAL Gallery invites outstanding artists from across Asia to exhibit in Japan, while positioning Fukuoka as an emerging platform for international artistic and cultural exchange.
「Watch Lee’s」に込めた意味
展覧会タイトル 「Watch Lee’s」 は、二人の共通する姓 “Lee” に由来すると同時に、「Leeたちの世界を見つめる」という意味を重ねています。写実と抽象という異なる表現を軸に活動する二人の作品は、それぞれ異なるアプローチで「見ること」と「感じること」の本質を問いかけます。
同じ台湾という土地で育ちながら、まったく異なる視覚言語によって構築された二つの世界。その対話こそが、本展の大きな見どころです。
The title Watch Lee’s is inspired by the artists’ shared surname, “Lee,” while also suggesting the idea of “watching the world through the eyes of the Lees.” Through the distinct yet equally nuanced artistic approaches of the two creators, the exhibition invites viewers to reconsider the relationship between seeing and perception from different perspectives.
光と記憶を描く 李吉祥
李吉祥は、写真のような精密な写実表現で知られるアーティストです。
台湾の伝統的な型板ガラスや網戸、自然光、日常の風景をモチーフとし、ガラス越しに生まれる揺らぎや焦点の曖昧さを描くことで、「現実」と「記憶」、「見ること」の境界を静かに問いかけます。
身近な生活風景の中に潜む詩情を繊細な筆致で描き出し、台湾という土地ならではの空気感や時間の流れを作品の中に映し出しています。

Lee Chi-Hsiang is known for his highly realistic paintings that closely resemble photography. For many years, he has drawn inspiration from Taiwan’s distinctive patterned glass windows, screen doors, natural light and shadows, and scenes from everyday life. By exploring the visual effects created through glass textures and shifting focal points, Lee encourages viewers to reconsider the boundaries between reality, memory, and the act of seeing. His works are imbued with a strong sense of everyday poetry, while reflecting the subtle emotions and cultural nuances found in ordinary life in Taiwan.
幾何学が生み出す感覚の風景 李政勳
李政勳は幾何学的な線や色彩、構成を用いた抽象表現によって独自の世界観を構築しています。
日常に存在する些細な出来事や人との関わり、偶然生まれる感情を、秩序あるフォルムと色彩へと置き換え、理性と感性が共存する空間を描き出します。
作品を前にした鑑賞者は、自身の記憶や感情を重ね合わせながら、それぞれの物語を見出していくことでしょう。

The second artist, Li Cheng-Hsun, has developed his own visual language through rational geometric lines, color structures, and abstract compositions. Transforming seemingly insignificant people, events, and objects from everyday life into images filled with rhythm and spatial depth, Li seeks a balance between reason and emotion. Through his paintings, viewers are invited to rediscover the quiet, ordinary moments that are often overlooked yet deeply worth cherishing.
二つの視点、一つの対話
光と時間の痕跡を描く李吉祥。
感情や記憶を抽象空間として構築する李政勳。
一人は写実、一人は抽象。
対照的な表現でありながら、両者の作品には「見る」という行為そのものを見つめ直す共通した視点があります。
本展では、二人の作品が同じ空間で響き合うことで、新たな鑑賞体験を生み出し、日本ではまだ紹介される機会の少ない台湾現代美術の豊かな多様性を福岡から発信します。
One artist captures the traces left behind by light and time; the other constructs spaces shaped by emotion and memory. One moves toward realism, while the other explores abstraction.
Watch Lee’s brings these two distinctly different artistic languages into dialogue within a single exhibition space, creating a conversation that transcends conventional ways of seeing. The exhibition also offers Japanese audiences an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the diversity and richness of contemporary art from Taiwan.
アーティストトーク開催
展覧会初日の 8月15日（土）15:00～17:00 には、李吉祥氏・李政勳氏が来日し、SIGNAL Galleryにてアーティストトークを開催いたします。制作背景や創作への想い、台湾現代アートについて語るほか、来場者との交流の時間も予定しています。福岡で両氏と直接出会い、作品について語り合える貴重な機会となります。
To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, Lee Chi-Hsiang and Li Cheng-Hsun will be present at SIGNAL Gallery from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, where they will share their artistic philosophies, the stories behind their works, and their perspectives on contemporary art.
The event will also provide a rare opportunity for the two artists to meet and engage directly with collectors, art enthusiasts, and members of the media in Fukuoka and Japan.
