ready to roll ： 出る準備ができている
相手にその場から出られるかを確認するために使います。

例）家族で海に行く準備をしています。
Dave：Are all of the kids ready to go?
June：Yeah, we're ready to roll.
Dave：子どもたちは準備できた？
June：うん、出られるよ。

burning the candle at both ends ： 働き過ぎ
働き過ぎで（遊び過ぎ）無理をしていることを表わす際に使う表現です。

例）Sallyは夫のSamを心配しています。
Reann： You mean Sam works two jobs? He's really burning the candle at both ends.
Sally：I know. I can't get him to take a break.
Reann：Samは仕事を掛け持ちしているの？彼は無理をし過ぎよ。
Sally：そうなのよ。休んでくれないの。

（例文）
Todd：Hey Jean, you ready to roll?
Jean:：No, I really need to finish this project.
Todd：OK... but weren't you here before me this morning?
Jean:：Yeah, you know, the early bird and all that.
Todd：Well, you're burning the candle at both ends, that's not good.
Jean:：Yeah, but it needs to be done.
Todd：Why don't you get one of your assistants to help you out?
Jean： Nah, it's a little above their pay grade.
Todd:：Right. Well, is it anything I can help you with?
Jean:：No thanks, I'm almost finished anyway. Why don't you go ahead?
