■「厳しくしないで」の意味。相手に落ち着いて、優しく接してほしい時に使う。
否定形をはずすと、「（誰かに）厳しくする」の意味になる
Don't be hard on (oneself) ： （誰か）に厳しくしないで
be hard on (oneself) ： （誰か）に厳しくする

（例文）
Carrie: What’s wrong? You look stressed.
